The bluefin is a highly migratory species that makes a journey across the Atlantic and spends part of their seasonal procession traveling through our area. We catch most of our bluefin tuna in the relatively shallow waters east and south of Cape Hatteras. Bluefin travel in schools and spend the winter time off of the Outer Banks feeding on the large schools of men haden.
