Bigeye Tuna
 
 
These tunas are normally larger than the yellowfins. They average from 100 to 250 lbs. and are similar in appearance to Yellowfins, with the main differences being that Big Eyes have a larger head, thicker body, and large, distinctive eyes. Meat from this species is deep crimson in color, with high fat and oil content. These species usually retain their color longer and has a richer flavor than the Yellowfin.
